Blue Jean Scarf

When my 11 year old son put on his pants this morning he discovered that the button was broken on them.
I told him to just "trash them", he said "Mom,cant you make something out of them"
That's when it hit me that a blue jean scarf would be neat to have and make.  So I got to work.
Here is what I did with this old jeans.
I only used one leg of these jeans.  I cut off the front of the jean, then the back, then I laid them together and cut away the extra.  I did not use the jean seams.  So when I got done cutting all I was left to work with was jean fabric.
I did hand stick the two pieces together.  Then I cut fringe all around all sides of the fabric.  Longer fringe on the ends, just my preference.

Wet the fabric and toss in the dryer.  This will really had fray-ing to the fringe.

So this is what it looks like when I finished.  I think it would look great with a white shirt, tan shorts and maybe even cowboy boots.  Use your imagination and add embellishments.  If you used adult jeans you could make an even longer scarf.  Beads might be cute tied to the fringe.

I did a second scarf and used the little jean pocket to add interest to my scarf.  I think if you  tried this you could  really add your own personal touches and make it your own.  We all have old jeans in the bottom of our drawers, so be inspired to make your own Blue Jean Scarf and start  to 'Craft Each Day'.

Soda pops

Soda Pops

My children love to freeze soda, juice, cool-aid... well really just about anything liquid.  Frozen juice does make a refreshing snack on a hot day. I just get so tired of all the cups of frozen liquid in my freezer.  So I came up with a mess free way for them to freeze their favorite juice. I call them Soda Pops.
All you need is old pop sickle plastic tubes, a funnel, juice and paper clip.  Very simple, just use the funnel to pour your juice into a clean plastic tube, top with a metal paper clip and freeze. Awesome, refreshing snack!
Enjoy, and don't forget to 'Craft' Each Day!~!
